Local food means food that is grown, harvested or processed in one geographical area. The production of local food often involves sustainable or ethical practices like organic farming or using Fair Trade products. All this brings economic, social, health and environmental benefits to the local area.
This website sets out to profile some of the key local food producers in Conwy county, providing a picture of their products and business, alongside details of how and where you can purchase their food. There are also further pages giving an overview of the benefits of the local food industry and what you can do to support your it. Further pages give details of Conwy county events where you can buy locally produced food and a list of Conwy county retailers, restaurants, cafes and hotels committed to supplying local food. We are always looking out for more local food suppliers so, if there is a local food producer or retailer, or a local-food-committed hotel, restaurant, café, pub or bed and breakfast that you would like to nominate, go to our Local Food Suppliers page and fill out our online form to tell us about it.

Blasu Conwy is managed and funded by the Conwy Agri Food Initiative, an EU and Welsh Assembly Government funded project. The Initiative aims to explore the opportunities to raise the profile of food from Conwy, to encourage businesses in the sector, and to help develop new markets and distribution for the sector. This, in turn, is expected to bring sustainable economic growth from the key agri-food sector to Conwy. The website, which will be hosted and maintained initially by the Conwy Agri-Food Initiative, is free to producers.
